FIG. 1 is a front and side perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the automatically retracting marine ladder of the present invention, shown in a position in which a user may ascend or descend the ladder while at least a lower portion of the ladder is within the water and the ladder is located adjacent a boat or dock;
